Privacy policy
The short version: your salary figures never leave your browser, because there is nowhere for them to go.

1. Who this covers
This policy applies to https://inhandcalculator.in, operated by Divya Akash Dutta. Contact: contact@inhandcalculator.in.
2. Your calculator inputs
Every calculator on this site runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Your CTC, salary structure, rent, investments and every other figure you enter are processed on your own device. They are not sent to a server, because this site has no server-side application and no database.
This is a property of how the site is built rather than a promise about how we behave. There is no backend to receive the data.
The one exception, which you control
Pressing "Copy calculation link" puts your inputs into the page URL so you can share or bookmark the result. Your figures also appear in your browser's address bar as you use the calculator, so that reloading the page keeps your state.
A URL containing your salary is as sensitive as a screenshot of your payslip. Share it accordingly, and be aware that a link you paste into a chat or a document carries those numbers with it.
3. What we do not do
- No user accounts, logins or profiles.
- No salary submissions, and no crowdsourced salary database. We are not building a dataset out of visitors.
- No collection of your name, employer, job title, city or experience. The calculators do not ask, because they do not need to.
- No selling or sharing of personal information, because we do not hold any.
- No advertising or marketing cookies.
4. Storage on your device
The site does not currently write your calculator inputs to localStorage or cookies. Your inputs live in the page URL and in the page itself for as long as the tab is open. Closing the tab discards them.
If a "remember my settings" feature is added later, this section will be updated to say exactly what is stored, and that data would remain on your device rather than being transmitted.
5. Analytics
No analytics service is installed. There is no Google Analytics, no Plausible, no Cloudflare Web Analytics and no third-party tracking script on any page of this site.
If analytics is introduced later, this policy will be updated before it goes live, and it will be configured so that calculator parameters in the query string are stripped rather than recorded. Sending a page URL containing someone's salary to a third-party analytics service would defeat the point of running the calculation locally.
6. Hosting and technical logs
The site is served as static files through a hosting and content-delivery provider. Like any web host, that infrastructure processes ordinary technical information in the course of delivering pages to you: your IP address, browser type and version, the page requested, referring page, and timestamps. This happens at the network level and is standard for any website.
These logs are handled by the hosting provider under their own terms. They are used for delivering the site, security and abuse prevention. We do not combine them with anything else, because there is nothing else to combine them with.
7. External links
Pages link to government and other external sources. Those sites have their own privacy practices, and this policy does not cover them.
8. Children
This site is aimed at working adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age.
9. Your rights
India's data protection framework gives individuals rights over their personal data, including access, correction, erasure and grievance redressal. Those rights apply to personal data a business holds about you.
In our case there is very little to exercise them against: we operate no accounts, hold no database of visitors and receive no calculator inputs. If you have corresponded with us by email, we hold that correspondence, and you can ask us to delete it.

10. Changes
Material changes will be reflected here with a revised effective date. If this site ever starts collecting something it currently does not, that change will be described here before it takes effect rather than after.
11. A note on this draft
This policy was written to describe what this site actually does. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer. It is published in good faith and is kept accurate to the implementation, but it is not a substitute for professional legal advice.
